    New OMEGA Speedmaster 38

OMEGA refreshes the Speedmaster 38 with seven new references, cleaner proportions and design details inspired by the legendary Moonwatch. From a striking black no-date model to sophisticated diamond-set editions, the collection reveals a new side of the iconic chronograph.

The OMEGA Speedmaster 38 enters a new chapter.

OMEGA has introduced seven new references while significantly refining the collection first launched in 2017. The previous oval subdials have been replaced by classic round counters, the dial features less text, and the wider bezels now incorporate the famous “Dot Over 90” detail associated with historic Speedmasters.

Every model also receives a new five-link bracelet inspired by the Moonwatch, strengthening the connection with OMEGA’s most famous chronograph.

OMEGA Speedmaster 38: Size and Specifications

All seven models measure 38 mm in diameter, 14.75 mm thick and 44.96 mm lug-to-lug, with water resistance to 100 metres.

Six versions feature a date window at 6 o’clock and are powered by the automatic Co-Axial OMEGA Calibre 3330.

The exception is perhaps the star of the collection: the new black no-date model, powered by Calibre 3332.

Here are the seven new Speedmaster 38 references.

    1. OMEGA Speedmaster 38 Black No-Date

    Ref. 324.30.38.50.01.002

For Speedmaster enthusiasts, this may be the most exciting model of the collection.

A matte black dial, white hands, black aluminium tachymeter bezel and no date window create a much stronger visual connection with the classic Moonwatch.

It also recalls the much-loved Speedmaster Reduced, OMEGA’s smaller automatic Speedmaster produced for more than two decades.

This is not a reissue of the Reduced, but the philosophy is similar: the unmistakable character of the Speedmaster in a more compact 38 mm automatic watch.

For anyone who loves the Moonwatch aesthetic but prefers smaller proportions, this could be one of OMEGA’s most interesting releases.

    2. OMEGA Speedmaster 38 White & Blue

    Ref. 324.30.38.50.04.001

A brighter and more contemporary interpretation.

The white lacquered dial is paired with blue hands and hour markers, while a blue ceramic tachymeter bezel completes the look.

The combination feels fresh and sporty, while the new round subdials maintain the unmistakable Speedmaster identity.

    3. OMEGA Speedmaster 38 Silver

    Ref. 324.30.38.50.02.003

This stainless-steel version takes the collection in a more elegant direction.

An opaline silvery dial is surrounded by a warm grey aluminium bezel, complemented by hands and indexes in a Sedna™ Gold tone and subtle brown details on the subdials.

It demonstrates that the Speedmaster 38 is not simply becoming a smaller Moonwatch. It retains its own more refined and versatile personality.

    4. OMEGA Speedmaster 38 Moonshine™ Gold & Green

    Ref. 324.20.38.50.02.001

The first two-tone model combines stainless steel with OMEGA’s 18K Moonshine™ Gold.

Gold accents appear on the bezel, crown, pushers and bracelet, while a green aluminium bezel surrounds an opaline silvery dial.

The result brings a more luxurious character to the Speedmaster while preserving its sporting DNA.

    5. OMEGA Speedmaster 38 Sedna™ Gold “Cappuccino”

    Ref. 324.20.38.50.02.002

The distinctive “Cappuccino” combination returns with a cleaner design.

An ivory-toned dial is paired with contrasting brown subdials and bezel, while 18K Sedna™ Gold details add warmth to the stainless-steel construction.

The new circular subdials make this generation feel noticeably more balanced and refined.

    6. OMEGA Speedmaster 38 Ice Blue with Diamonds

    Ref. 324.15.38.50.03.001

Here, the Speedmaster moves firmly into jewellery territory.

The stainless-steel case features an elegant ice-blue dial surrounded by 52 diamonds set into the bezel.

Rhodium-plated hands and indexes complete a sophisticated interpretation that combines the architecture of a sports chronograph with the brilliance of fine jewellery.

    7. OMEGA Speedmaster 38 Mother-of-Pearl with Diamonds

    Ref. 324.15.38.50.05.001

The final reference combines the same 52-diamond bezel with a beautiful white mother-of-pearl dial.

Its natural reflections give every dial its own character, while rhodium-plated hands and indexes complete the design.

It is perhaps the clearest demonstration of OMEGA’s vision for the Speedmaster 38: not simply a smaller Moonwatch, but a complete collection built around more compact proportions.

Is This the Modern Successor to the Speedmaster Reduced?

The new black no-date model inevitably invites comparisons with the OMEGA Speedmaster Reduced, first introduced in 1988.

OMEGA has not officially revived the Reduced name, and the new watch is technically very different. Yet the concept feels familiar: compact dimensions, an automatic movement and the unmistakable visual language of the Speedmaster.

The difference today is that this idea forms part of a much broader collection, ranging from understated stainless steel to Moonshine™ Gold, Sedna™ Gold, mother-of-pearl and diamonds.
